The Project 168 curriculum includes 10 competency areas. The specific curricula for each area are listed below. Each competency area, developed by a University content expert, has required core experiences accompanied by electives. At a minimum, students will engage in 50 unique experiences.

Required Core (2)

- Attend a WVU community engagement/volunteer fair and visit a minimum of three organizations
- Complete 10 hours of service with the same organization (in addition to the core requirement)
- Complete a national service program (i.e., AmeriCorps state or national, AmeriCorps VISTA, AmeriCorps NCCC) [if completed, the course will count for all 3 elective requirements]
- Complete a service-learning S-designated class
- Connect with a nonprofit organization and carry out a donation drive
- Hold active membership in a service-based organization
