Junior, Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Leadership Studies
My name is Rushik Patel and I am a junior majoring in biomedical engineering with a minor in leadership studies! I have been lucky enough to call West Virginia my home since birth. I am grateful to have met and learned from so many outstanding educators, teachers, faculty, and peers from across the state. West Virginia University has presented me with unmatched educational, research, and team-building opportunities, such as the WVU Global Medical and Dental Brigades, Presidential Student Ambassadors, Biomedical Engineering Society, and Student Government Association.
I have fallen in love with the campus and thrive under the collaborative environment the university has to offer. I joined Project 168 to broaden my understanding of society, the university, and the state as a whole. Through this program, I have had the opportunity to reflect on my experiences since freshman year and engage in various activities I never dreamed of. I have maximized my time outside the classroom to positively impact the world around me. Project 168 has provided an avenue for me to become the best person possible and give back to my community for fostering my success.
